I remember as a kid my parents having a bowl of chestnuts sitting out. I haven't had them in over 25 years and my wife had never tasted them. We decided to plant a few trees and see where that led us. We have over 30 trees and are planning on adding a few more. We prune, treat and gather the chestnuts by hand yearly. We aspire to grow annually and hope to one day have a nice retirement hobby. We are located in the South so our trees bloom earlier than Northern orchards so our yield is in September. The chestnut trees love our heated, humid climate. We have thoroughly enjoyed watching our babies grow and look forward to the future.
